Course Description
IIRS announces “Basics of Geocomputation and Geoweb Services” free online course for students and professionals. This course has been launched under the “89th IIRS Outreach Programme”.
The program is sponsored by IIRS, Indian Space Research Organisation, Department of Space, Government of India, Dehradun’. This course will cover all the fundamentals and advanced topics of Geocomputation and Geoweb Services.
Topics to be Covered
- Introduction to Geocomputation, Online GIS and Geo-web services
- Open Geodata Repositories & ISRO Geoweb Services for thematic applications
- Programming concepts for Geo-computation – Introduction to Python and R
- Overview on the concept of DBMS, RDBMS, and SDBMS for geo-data handling
- Programming concepts for Geo-computation – Introduction to R
- Overview of WebGIS and application
- Practical Demonstration on Introduction to Cloud-based geospatial data processing
Eligibility
Undergraduate and postgraduate students of any stream are eligible to apply. Even working professionals can also enroll in this course.
Important Dates
The course is scheduled from 25 October to -02 November 2021. The course will contain seven lectures (each of one and a half hours duration).
Certification
Yes, there would be a free verified certificate by ISRO and CEOS SEO for all the candidates. All the participants should attend 70% sessions of the
course live via e-class portal to avail the certificate.
