About the IIM Mumbai Short Course
The goal of this programme is to help strengthen the knowledge and abilities of government auditors who work with oil and gas logistics and supply chains. Over 30 auditors from across the country are taking part, and the sessions are led by both academic experts and industry professionals.

The programme was created by CAG K Sanjay Murthy to address new challenges in logistics and supply chain management, especially those connected to international trade1. IIM Mumbai Director Prof. Manoj Kumar Tiwari guided the academic direction, making sure the programme matches national priorities and current industry practices1. Prof. Vivekanand B. Khanapuri, Dean SRIC, played a major role in developing a strong and relevant curriculum, and Shri Vijay Kothari, Principal Director of Audit (Shipping), helped ensure the training is precise and practical for the sector.
The first day included talks from respected leaders. Prof. Tiwari explained the oil and gas value chain, highlighting the complex logistics and important points for auditors to focus on. Deepak Shetty, former Director General of Shipping, spoke about global rules for maritime trade, port logistics, and what auditors need to consider for international shipping. The day ended with a session on risk management and operational challenges in oil and gas supply chains, led by supply chain expert Ruma Kishor.
