The must haves
2-3 prior internship stints – preferably in the area you’re applying for (past backend internships if applying for backend engineering internship)
Strong unit test and debugging skills
Good communication skills
The Day To Day
Writing reusable, testable, and efficient code
Implementation of low-latency, high-availability, and performant applications
Setup and own the engineering architectures built around event sourcing, application sharding, database sharding, service communication mesh, etc.
The tech: Go, Google Cloud Spanner, Kafka, Redis, React/React Native.
