About UIDAI
The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) is a statutory authority established on 12 July 2016 by the Government of India, under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, under the provisions of the Aadhaar (Targeted Delivery of Financial and Other Subsidies, Benefits, and Services) Act, 2016 (“Aadhaar Act 2016”). (MeitY). The Aadhaar Act 2016 was amended on July 25, 2019 by the Aadhaar and Other Laws (Amendment) Act, 2019 (14 of 2019).

About UIDAI Internship Program 2022
Interns” will be exposed to various Technology tracks and other units within UIDAI Headquarters, Technology Centres, and Regional offices, and will be projected to engage in application development, legal domains (such as cyber laws/IT act), and general management. For the “Interns,” exposure to the workings of the UIDAI and the technologies used will be a boon to their future career prospects in niche technology, legal domains, management, and a variety of other areas as the case may be.
Eligibility Criteria
This policy only allows Indian citizens to apply. Students from any recognized university or institution in India or abroad who meet the following criteria are eligible to apply for the internship:-
- Students in their third or fourth year (Final or Pre-Final) of a B.Tech / BE course of any discipline who have earned at least 60% (GPA avg of 6.0) in all prior semester exams are eligible.
- Graduate students who have completed/appeared in the term-end exams of the first year/second semester of their postgraduate program or are pursuing research/Ph.D. and have obtained not less than 60% or equivalent marks in Graduation.
- Students who have appeared in the final exam or have recently completed their Graduation/PG and are awaiting admission for further studies or employment may also be considered for an internship if they have earned 60% or more cumulative marks in all years/semesters of their graduation/post-graduation up to the date of application.

Duration of Internship
Internships must last at least six weeks and no longer than 12 months. Interns who do not complete the required period will not be issued a certificate.
Location Of Internship
All interns should work at the Technology Centre in Bengaluru, Regional offices of UIDAI, or UIDAI Headquarters, or from a remote location under the supervision of the Project Supervisor (not below the Director rank)

Selection Process
The interns will be chosen based on the recommendations of the Selection Committee, which will be formed by the concerned DDG of RO/Tech Center/Division of Hqrs for the purpose, and with the approval of the UIDAI Competent Authority.
If a personal or virtual interview is deemed necessary for the selection of interns, no TA/DA will be paid for attending the personal interview
The decision of the concerned DDG heading the respective office (Tech Centre/ Regional Office/ Division of Head Quarters) regarding a candidate’s suitability as an intern shall be final and binding.

Who will get a Job at UIDAI?
Internships are neither jobs nor guarantees of future employment with the Authority. However, UIDAI hires Technical Executives from prestigious engineering schools on the NISG payroll. During campus hiring, the Selection Committee may give weightage to interns if the following conditions are met:
- UIDAI visits for campus hiring in the colleges where the intern is enrolled
- Already shortlisted for interview based on merit through the campus hiring written examination process
- During an internship at UIDAI, the project supervisor gave such an intern a higher rating (s).
