About the Jharkhand
Jharkhand lit. ’the land of forests’) is a state in eastern India. Ranchi Art School Offers Free English Education for Five Years
Speedwell English Spoken and Art School, located in Ward No. 4 Ambedkar Nagar, Ranchi, Jharkhand, has been providing a valuable service to the community for the past five years: free English language education. Open to people of all backgrounds, this program empowers individuals to improve their communication skills and potentially unlock new opportunities.
Inspired by a Need
School director Vipin Kumar, upon returning home to Gumla, Jharkhand during the COVID-19 pandemic, noticed a lack of educational opportunities for local students. Witnessing this need, Vipin, a Bachelor of Design graduate with experience as a fashion designer in Hong Kong, decided to take action.
From One Student to Many
Starting with just five students on April 30th, 2019, the program has steadily grown. Today, Speedwell English Spoken and Art School runs three batches, catering to students from the 5th grade to graduation level. Students have shown significant improvement in their academic performance, including better results in matriculation, intermediate, and graduation exams.

More Than Just English
The free four-month course goes beyond basic language skills. Students develop their reading, writing, speaking, and grammar abilities, while also receiving instruction in personality development, organization behavior, group discussion, and art. Additionally, technical drawing, mehndi design, and other creative skills are offered.

Speedwell fosters a supportive learning environment. The school organizes debates, science exhibitions, and other English-language competitions to motivate students. Furthermore, they provide essential learning materials like notebooks, pens, and copies free of charge.

A Beacon of Opportunity
This initiative by Speedwell English Spoken and Art School highlights the positive impact education can have on individuals and communities. By offering free English language education, Speedwell empowers students to reach their full potential.
In the institute, the first batch runs from 6:00 a.m. to 7:30 a.m., during which students in grades 11 and 12 can register themselves. The second batch runs from 7:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m., during which graduate-level students can enrol. Whereas the third batch runs from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., in which students from fifth to tenth grade can register themselves.
Each batch has a maximum seating capacity of 30 students. Registration for enrollment is going on. Registration is also free, so those who want to speak and learn English can register here.
