Prizes
The following prizes will be awarded:
- For Winners selected in accordance with Clause 8 (Winner Selection and Notification) above, the prize is an electronic gift voucher (vendor to be determined according to country/region) worth USD 50. There will be 1000 prizes in total for all countries/regions participating in the Promotion.
The 1000 prizes will be awarded to Winners from each country/region across Asia by the mechanism set out in Clause 8. Each Winner will receive one (1) prize. There will be no deviation from the selection mechanism under Clause 8 unless otherwise decided by Microsoft / in exceptional circumstances. No substitution, transfer, or assignment of prize is permitted, except that Microsoft reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value in the event the offered prize is unavailable. Prizes will be sent no later than five (5) days after Winner Selection.
Prize Winners may be required to complete and return prize claim and/or tax forms (“Forms”) within the deadline stated in the Winner notification. Taxes on the prize, if any, are the sole responsibility of the Winner, who is advised to seek independent counsel regarding the tax implications of accepting a prize.
Microsoft accepts no responsibility for prizes damaged or lost in transit.
In the event the Winner does not take an element of the prize at the time stipulated by Microsoft then that element of the prize will be forfeited by the Winner and cash will not be awarded in lieu of that element of the prize.
By accepting a prize, you agree that Microsoft may use your entry, name, image and other details online and in print, or in any other media, in connection with this Promotion without payment or compensation to you, except where prohibited by law.
Duration
The Promotion starts at 09:00 (SGT) on 7 February (Wednesday), and ends at 17:00 (SGT) on 25 June 2024 (Tuesday) (“Entry Period”).
Winner Selection and Notification
Pending confirmation of eligibility, potential prize winners will be selected and announced by Microsoft or their agent two (2) times within the entire Promotion: once around the midway point of the Entry Period (at around 17:00 on 25 April 2024 (Thursday) (“First Selection“), and once at the end of the Entry Period (at around 17:00 on 25 June 2024 (Friday)) (“Second Selection”) at the Asia AI Odyssey website from among all eligible entries received (together, the “Selections“, and each a “Selection“).
The entrant of each selected entry (“Winner”) will be awarded an electronic gift voucher (vendor to be determined according to country/region) worth USD 50 as the prize.
There will be a total of 19 countries/regions in Asia participating in the Promotion. For each Selection, the number of Winners for each country/region will generally be proportional to the number of entries received in that country/region – the higher the number of entries received in that country/region, the higher the number of Winners. In each country/region, entries with the earliest submission times will be selected (i.e., the fastest entrants to successfully meet the eligibility requirements and the entry requirements under Clauses 4 – 6 of these Terms and Conditions will be selected as Winners). Microsoft reserves the right to make changes to the foregoing principle as and when required.
Winners of prizes for each Selection will be notified via the contact information provided during entry no more than five (5) days following the respective Selection with Prize claim instructions, including submission deadlines. If a selected Winner cannot be contacted, is ineligible, fails to claim a Prize or fails to return any Forms (as defined in Clause 9), the selected Winner’s Prize will be forfeited and an alternate Winner will be selected if time allows.
If you are a potential Winner but are considered a minor in your place of legal residence, we may require your parent or legal guardian to sign all required forms on your behalf. For each unclaimed prize, only three (3) alternate Winners will be selected, after which the unclaimed Prize will remain un-awarded.
The list of Winners for the First Selection will be published on the Asia AI Odyssey website between 25 and 30 April 2024, and that for the Second Selection will be published on the Asia AI Odyssey website between 25 and 30 June 2024, or in any event within three (3) days of each Selection respectively, at Click Here
General Conditions and Release Of Liability
To the maximum extent allowed by law, by entering you agree to release and hold harmless Microsoft and its respective parents, partners, subsidiaries, affiliates, directors, officers, employees and agents from any liability or any damage, loss, death or personal injury that may occur as a result of your participation in the Promotion. You undertake to indemnify and keep Microsoft and its respective parents, partners, subsidiaries, affiliates, directors, officers, employees and agents harmless and indemnified against any loss, damage, claims, costs and expenses that may be incurred or suffered by each or any of them due to your breach of any of these Terms and Conditions and/or arising from your participation in the Promotion.
All local laws apply. The decisions of Microsoft are final and binding.
We reserve the right to cancel, change or suspend this Promotion for any reason, including cheating, technology failure, catastrophe, war or any other unforeseen or unexpected event that affects the integrity of this Promotion, whether human or mechanical. If the integrity of the Promotion cannot be restored, we may select Winners from among all eligible entries received before we have to cancel, change or suspend the Promotion. Violators will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law and may be banned from participation in future Microsoft Promotions.
