Jaipur, Rajasthan – February 24, 2024: Former Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Ashok Gehlot, has raised his voice in support of students stranded abroad due to the non-disbursement of funds under the Rajiv Gandhi Scholarship for Academic Excellence scheme. In a letter addressed to the current Chief Minister, Bhajanlal Sharma, Gehlot demanded the immediate release of scholarship funds to alleviate the financial hardship faced by the students.

About the Rajiv Gandhi Scholarship news

Ashok Gehlot, a former chief minister of Rajasthan, has insisted that the funds be released immediately to the young people chosen for the Rajiv Gandhi Scholarship Programme by the state government.

In this regard, he had also addressed a letter to Bhajanlal Sharma, the Chief Minister.

Gehlot stated on X, “The Rajiv Gandhi Scholarship for Academic Excellence programme, which our government initiated to offer 500 youngsters free study overseas, is likewise stalled under the new administration. Children studying abroad are having issues as a result of this.

According to him, 346 students were selected for the programme but did not receive scholarships.

Gehlot claimed to have received this information from the pupils who visited him.
Regarding the matter, the Congress leader has corresponded with Chief Minister Sharma via letter.
Once more, the students and their families have united to express that they still haven’t received the scholarship, even after almost a week.
