The Ministry of Defence has launched the MyGov Tableaux Contest to showcase India’s defence might and celebrate its defence heritage. The contest is open to all Indian citizens and residents of India. Participants can submit their entries in the form of a tableauce, a musical performance, or a short film. The best entries will be awarded cash prizes worth up to Rs. 30,000.

About the My Gov

MyGov[1] (Hindustani: Merī Sarkār) is a citizen engagement platform launched by the Government of India on 26 July 2014 to promote the active participation of Indian citizens in their country’s governance and development. It is aimed at creating a common platform for Indian citizens to “crowdsource governance ideas from citizens”. Its users discuss and contribute to various government projects and plans. It also allows users to upload documents in various formats. The website is hosted and managed by the National Informatics Centre (NIC). Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated that the aim was to reduce the long gap developed between the electorate and the Executive after being elected.

In the first week of August 2014, MyGov received 100,000 registered users, barely two weeks after its initiation. Google became the first multinational firm to collaborate with . Tableaux Contest Details

Tableaux play a significant role in the Republic Day parade, showcasing the nation’s rich cultural diversity, historical significance, and progress. The themes chosen for these tableaux are carefully curated to reflect the essence of India’s journey and its aspirations.

On Republic Day, states and other agencies and ministries present their successes in different tableaux that incorporate both their history and culture as well as cutting-edge technology and equipment.

As a part of Republic Day Celebrations-2024, the Ministry of Defence in collaboration with is inviting citizens to suggest Themes for the Tableaux Contest.

Contest Guidelines

This contest is open to all persons residing within India.

The applicant must be at least 18 years of age to submit an entry.

There is no entry fee for the contest.

Submissions will be accepted only through the MyGov Portal.

The same mobile number and email ID cannot be used more than once for participation in the contest.

No direct entries to the Ministry of Defence will be accepted. No submission will be received after the last date of submission.

Technical Parameters

Themes for Tableaux should be one-liners.

This being the 75th Republic Day it must focus on the cultural roots of the democratic tradition of the country and the fact that “Bharat” is the mother of Democracy.

Themes may also relate to the fact that “Bharat” is the most followed democratic country in the World.

It should also be reflective of the achievement of 75 years of our Republic.

The theme should be apt, relevant, and appealing. It should endeavour to drive a sense of pride & patriotism among citizens of all ages.

It should highlight & showcase the importance of Republic Day and imbibe an understanding of the fundamental duties one has towards the country.

Prizes

A total of 03 winners would be selected and rewarded with a cash prize of INR 10,000/- each.
