what is the IIT Mandi Summer Internship?

The IIT Mandi Summer Internship is a program offered by the Indian Institute of Technology Mandi for undergraduate and postgraduate students. It provides an opportunity for students to gain hands-on research experience working alongside faculty members on ongoing projects.

About the IIT Mandi

The Indian Institute of Technology Mandi (IIT Mandi) is one of eight new Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) established by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD).

IIT Mandi is a research university located in Kamand Valley, Mandi city in Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh and has 132 faculties with 1,655 students enrolled at undergraduate, postgraduate and research levels. Currently, the university has 1,141 alumni.

Since its inception, the institute has been involved with more than 275 Research and Development (R&D) projects worth more than Rs. 120 crore. In the past 10 years, the institute has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with as many as 11 international and 12 national universities

Eligibility Criteria

Pre-final year of B.Tech. / B.E. students and PG Students can apply.

More Details

The interns are expected to work under the mentorship of IIT Mandi faculty member(s) in

different areas.

Applicants need to visit the IIT Mandi website (Link) to find the areas of research faculty.

Applicants need to specify the proposed area of work of a potential supervisor.

The duration for a summer internship is one/two months (s).

The intern will bear travel and living expenses.

The schools/centres screen interns based on the credentials of applicants.

Shortlisting and selection criteria may be different for different schools and centres.

Selected candidates will have to arrange a letter of recommendation/NOC from their Institute.

The minimum duration of the internship is one month, and the maximum is two months.
