IIT Palakkad Summer Internship 2024 Stipend of Rs. 8k]: Apply by April 6

The IIT Palakkad Summer Internship program for 2024 offers a stipend of Rs. 8,000 per month for a total of Rs. 12,000 for the entire program. The internship is a six-week residential program aimed at inspiring undergraduate and postgraduate students in science, engineering, and humanities to pursue careers in teaching and research by providing hands-on research training.

The eligibility criteria include postgraduate students, 4th and 5th-year students of integrated master’s programs, and 3rd and 4th year B.Tech students. The application deadline for this program is April 6, 2024.

About the IIT Palakkad

Indian Institute of Technology Palakkad (IIT Palakkad or IIT PKD) is a public autonomous engineering and research institute located in Palakkad, Kerala. It is one of India’s 23 IITs. Proposed in the 2014 Union budget of India, IIT Palakkad was established in 2015 as an Institute of National Importance by the Government of India.

The institute started functioning in August 2015 from a temporary site located inside the Ahalia Integrated Campus, Palakkad. In February 2019, academic activities commenced on the Nila Campus, sometimes referred to as the transit campus. The Nila Campus is nestled in the corner of the under-construction 500-acre permanent campus at Kanjikode

About the IIT Palakkad Summer Internship

IIT Palakkad has a summer internship program that aims at introducing undergraduate and postgraduate students to research so as to enthuse them, and to get them interested in a career in teaching and research. This is a six-week-long residential program and it combines hands-on research training with a variety of hardware and software analysis tools. 

Eligibility Criteria

Science, Engineering and Humanities: The programme is open to postgraduate students (including 4th and 5th year students of integrated master’s programs) and those who are in the 3rd and 4th year of their B.Tech degree).

Application Submission Deadline	April 6, 2024
Declaration of Selection/Waiting List	April 26, 2024
Deadline to confirm participation	May 5, 2024
Program starts	June 3, 2024
Program ends	July 16, 2024

Application process

The application is to be submitted online at the portal available at the homepage of IIT Palakkad. 

Selection will be made based on academic record, aptitude for research, accomplishments and area(s) of research interest. 

Financial Support

Only those who satisfactorily complete the programme will be given the internship certificate.

Financial support of Rs. 8000/- per month (Rs. 12000/- for the entire period) will be provided to all the selected candidates.

Accommodation on a shared basis is available on campus. Hostel room rent along with mess food charges should be paid by the intern students.

Students from IIT Palakkad are not eligible to apply for the summer internship program of the institute.
