Role and Responsibility

The summer internship program is one of the flagship activities of IBM Research India under the University Relations Program. Our summer internship program focuses on providing the best learning experience for students with diverse backgrounds from leading technical universities in India.

IBM Research features a world-class team of researchers working in various facets of cryptography and security, and this internship would provide the candidates with the opportunity to contribute towards cutting-edge research and development efforts in quantum-safe cryptography.

During the internship, the candidate will be expected to carry out research and development work contributing towards current projects happening in the lab, under the mentorship of full-time researchers.

The overarching goal of the internship will be to provide the candidate with the experience of working in a leading research lab such as IBM IRL, and the internship could lead to prospective full-time offers.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

Basic familiarity with cryptographic and system security concepts and protocols

Strong programming skills

Strong background in discrete mathematics and linear algebra (optional)
