The Department of Management Studies (DMS) at IIT Delhi has launched a new programme — “Executive Master of Business Administration (Executive MBA)” for working professionals. The newly launched programme is designed to meet the needs of mid-career executives who have over three years of experience and want to enhance their knowledge and skills, expand their network, and accelerate their career progression without taking a break, the IIT said.

Among the key highlights of the Executive MBA programme are flexible learning structure meaning students can attend evening classes (6 PM – 9 PM) on weekdays to balance students career commitments with academic pursuits Furthermore, students will become part of a strong IIT Delhi alumni network, creating valuable opportunities for collaboration and career advancement. A short-duration global field study tour to foster cross-cultural understanding will also be included, IIT Delhi said.

The department will offer a 100 per cent tuition fee waiver as a scholarship to the top-ranked student. Similarly, a 50 per cent tuition fee waiver will be given to the second-ranked student and a 25 per cent waiver to the third-ranked student (first-semester students will get waivers on the basis of their admission merit list; for other semesters, CGPA will be the basis).

Meanwhile, in response to the Right to Information Act query, the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi has said that about 22 per cent of students who sought placements during these five years were unable to get jobs. The institution said that job placements for this year are ongoing but declined to provide exact details on recruitment. However, experts predict an employment rate of about 40 per cent for 2024, which while representing progress over previous years, also shows that a significant number of students still struggle to find jobs.
