About the Samsung India

Samsung is a South Korean multinational manufacturing conglomerate headquartered in Samsung Digital City, Suwon, South Korea. It comprises numerous affiliated businesses, most of them united under the Samsung brand and is the largest South Korean chaebol (business conglomerate). Samsung was founded by Lee Byung-chul in 1938 as a trading company. Selected from esteemed institutions such as FMS Delhi, IIFT, IM Ahmedabad, IIM Bangalore, IIM Calcutta, IIM Indore, IIM Kozhikode, IIM Lucknow, IIM Mumbai, IIM Ranchi, IIM Trichy, IIM-Indore, JBIMS Mumbai, MDI Gurugram, MICA, NMIMS Mumbai, SCHMHRD, SIBM Pune, TISS Mumbai HRM & LR, XIMB Bhubaneswar, and XLRI Jamshedpur, these students underwent a rigorous selection process to secure coveted spots at IGNITE Programme.

Duration

The two-month-long summer internship programme – Samsung IGNITE (Inspiring Growth & Nurturing Interns Towards Excellence) started with a fun-filled two-day induction which involved interacting with the senior leadership at Samsung India.

About the Summer Internship News

61 students from premium business schools across the nation have embarked on their summer internship journey at Samsung’s regional headquarters in Gurugram. This collaboration marks a pivotal moment for the students as they step into the real-world corporate environment, aiming to apply their theoretical knowledge to practical scenarios under the guidance of seasoned professionals at Samsung.

The IGNITE internship programme offers them a unique opportunity to gain firsthand experience in various facets of business operations, ranging from marketing and sales to finance and human resources.

The interns had bright smiles on their faces when they walked into the office, glad that they would be able to experience Samsung’s regional headquarters in Gurugram and bond with their colleagues.

“IGNITE is all about cultivating the raw talent and we have the highest ever, 61 interns this year which means that the IGNITE programme is only getting bigger and better”, said Sameer Wadhawan, Head, of Human Resources at Samsung India.

“We are delighted to welcome these bright young minds to our organization as we aim to empower the next generation of business leaders and innovators. These GenZ interns are also future customers who have a different perspective of looking at products, they are keen observers who love sharing their feedback. At Samsung, we encourage this journey of mutual learning,” he added.

The interns are equally excited about the opportunity to work with Samsung. Aryan Mehra, a student from MDI Gurugram and one of the interns, shared his anticipation, saying, “It’s a dream come true to intern with Samsung. I look forward to applying my classroom learnings to real-world challenges and gaining invaluable insights from experts at a company that fosters innovation at every step of its journey. ”

This collaboration between Samsung and top B-schools underscores the importance of bridging the gap between academia and industry, facilitating the seamless transition of students into the corporate world. One of the interns, Shubhi, a student of SIBM-Pune, is a die-hard Bollywood fan. She loves to meet new people and embrace new cultures.
