About the IIT Madras
Indian Institute of Technology Madras (popularly known as IITM or IIT Madras) is a public technical university located in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. About the Free Courses
Through the SWAYAM platform, IIT Madras is offering a free online data science education for engineers. Both techies and first-year students will benefit from the course as it will help them master coding and comprehend a variety of coding problems.
However, upon completion of the free course, participants will also have the chance to receive a certificate. The field of data science is the primary focus of the course. The SWAYAM platform of the institute will be used to provide it.
Professor Ragunathan Rengasamy and Shankar Narasimhan will lead the eight-week course, which will cover a wide range of topics in detail.
Covering a wide range of subjects, the course will examine the R programming language’s foundations, data science algorithms, statistics, optimization, regression analysis, and classification methods, as well as the mathematical underpinnings that are essential to the field. An important part of the course is a real-world capstone case study.
After the program is successfully finished, participants will have the knowledge and abilities to code in R, analyze and assess solution approaches critically, and handle data science problems with ease.
It should be noted that while the course is open to everyone, those who want a certificate must register and pass a proctored test.

This Free Courses duration is 8 weeks.

The course will go on from 22 January to 15 March 2024.
The certification examination is scheduled for 24 March 2024.
