About the IISER
Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research (IISERs) are a group of prestigious autonomous institutions for teaching and research in natural science established by the Government of India through the Ministry of Education to provide collegiate education in Basic Sciences integrated with research at the undergraduate level. The institutes were formally established by the Parliament of India through the Science Education and Research (Amendment) Act, 2010. Seven IISERs have been established across the country, namely IISER Pune in Maharashtra, IISER Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh, IISER Mohali in Punjab, IISER Kolkata in West Bengal, IISER Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala, IISER Tirupati in Andhra Pradesh, and IISER Berhampur in Odisha.
All IISERs were declared as Institutes of National Importance by the Parliament of India in 2012, to promote them as leading institutions in the country in the field of basic sciences along with its sister institutes like the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. The financial outlay for each IISER is around ₹5 billion (US$63 million) for the first five years of establishment.
About the IISER Bhopal Summer Internship
IISER Bhopal invites applications from bright and motivated students interested in basic sciences, engineering sciences and economic sciences for its summer research internship program. Selected candidates would participate in research carried out by IISER Bhopal faculty, through research/reading projects under their supervision.
Eligibility Criteria
Students who have completed or are currently studying in the 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year of B.Sc/B.Tech/ B.E (or) 1st year of M.Sc/M. Tech (or) an equivalent program at the time of application are encouraged to apply.
Candidates are requested to fill in the Online Internship Application Form. Providing false information will invite cancellation of the application/registration.

Selection Process
Candidates will be selected based on their academic performance and the write-up they submit.
A list of candidates selected for summer internships will be displayed on the institute’s website by the first week of May.
No financial assistance will be provided.
Hostel accommodation will be provided and charges (Rs. 1500/- PM) will be applicable.
Mess will be charged as per actual rates, payable to the mess contractor. (Approx Rs. 3300/- PM)
After the successful completion of the Internship and submission of detailed project report, the certificate will be issued by the faculty in charge.
Important dates
The portal will be open from March 20 to April 21, 2024.
Duration
4 to 8 weeks between May 27 and July 20.
