Indian Institute of Technology Ropar (IIT Ropar) is a public technical university located in Rupnagar, Punjab, India. It is one of the eight newer Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs)established by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India under The Institutes of Technology (Amendment) Act, 2011 to expand the reach and enhance the quality of technical education in the country.

About IIT Ropar

• The following fields are currently offered by the institute as Bachelor of Technology (B. Tech.) programs: Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Metallurgical and Materials Engineering. The duration of this curriculum is eight semesters. In addition, the institute provides an M.Tech program in a number of fields, such as mechanical, electrical, biomedical, and computer science and engineering.

Additional information

Candidates must choose Research Supervisor for their respective course or field of study. On the form, they can choose up to three Research Supervisors.
The candidates must complete their internship under the supervision of a single supervisor in a single department.
Shared hostel accommodations are subject to availability and will be charged for. The academic supervisor and the HOD should forward the accommodation application to the office of the dean of student affairs for approval (only if the applicant is chosen for the internship). The student is responsible for covering the cost of food and other amenities. Accommodations are only offered to students who complete their internships between May 15, 2024, and July 15, 2024.
