The Ministry represents the Government of India through embassies, is in charge of India’s representation at the UN and other international organizations, and is also responsible for strengthening and defending India’s influence and Indian interests around the world by giving other nations billions of dollars in development aid.
Info about MEA Internship Program 2023-24 Term II
This program is intended to support the Ministry’s ongoing efforts to increase attention to MEA, to add value for the interns, to ensure better gender inclusivity, to increase diversity among the cohort of interns hired by the Ministry in terms of qualifications, domicile, and socioeconomic status & also give information about an introduction to the process of the Indian government’s foreign policy formation and implementation.

Eligibility Criteria
Indian citizens having a graduate degree from an accredited university or those who are in their final year of an undergraduate course where an internship is a required component of their final year curriculum are normally eligible for internships at the MEA headquarters.
The candidate’s age as of December 31 of the internship year should not be more than 25.
Applicants of only some states & Union Territories should be eligible for this program which are Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Odisha, Punjab, Rajasthan, Sikkim, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Tripura, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, West Bengal, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Lakshadweep & Puducherry.
Benefits
Each intern will get an honorarium of INR 10,000 per month to cover living expenses.
The cost of a one-time round-trip flight between the state capital and Delhi, from the candidate’s state of residence, or their college or university will be covered, up to a maximum of the current economy class airfare.
During their internship, the interns are responsible for paying for their food and lodging in Delhi.
Selected interns receive a certificate after completion of the internship.
