The She Code Africa x Grow with Google Scholarship is a 5-month/20-week intensive program that offers African girls and women the opportunity to gain job-ready skills in various fields of technology. The scholarship is a 100% scholarship provided by She Code Africa in partnership with Grow with Google and Coursera. The scholarship is open to African girls and women interested in upskilling in the following fields: Cybersecurity, Data Analytics, Digital Marketing and e-commerce, IT Support, Project Management, and UX Design. The deadline for the scholarship is October 28, 2023.

About the Google Scholarship
Google is an American multinational technology company focusing on artificial intelligence, online advertising, search engine technology, cloud computing, computer software, quantum computing, e-commerce, and consumer electronics. It has been referred to as “the most powerful company in the world” and as one of the world’s most valuable brands due to its market dominance, data collection, and technological advantages in the field of artificial intelligence. Google was founded on September 4, 1998, by American computer scientists Larry Page and Sergey Brin while they were PhD students at Stanford University in California. Together they own about 14% of its publicly listed shares and control 56% of its stockholder voting power through super-voting stock. The company went public via an initial public offering (IPO) in 2004. In 2015, Google was reorganized as a wholly owned subsidiary of Alphabet Inc.

This Scholarship is a 5-month / 20-week intensive program that will offer you an opportunity to gain the job-ready skills you need to kick off or advance your tech career with no prior relevant experience or degree required.
Your participation in this program will afford you access to community support from fellow learners and monthly check-in calls by the SCA Team to facilitate a thriving learning environment for you and employability workshops geared towards helping you secure internship roles. After completing the program, a career certificate will be issued to you.

Be able to show proof of foundational knowledge or skills in the chosen track
Possess a working Laptop and have access to internet connectivity for the full duration of the program
Be available for monthly check-in calls
Applicants who are beginners or at entry or mid-levels of their chosen tech tracks will be given priority consideration.
