About the IIT Mandi
The Indian Institute of Technology Mandi (IIT Mandi) is one of eight new Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) established by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD).
IIT Mandi is a research university located in Kamand Valley, Mandi city in the Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh, and has 132 faculties with 1,655 students enrolled at undergraduate, postgraduate, and research levels. Currently, the university has 1,141 alumni.
Since its inception, the institute has been involved with more than 275 Research and Development (R&D) projects worth more than Rs. 120 crore. In the past 10 years, the institute has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with as many as 11 international and 12 national universities
About the Course
The Centre for Continuing Education (CCE) at the Indian Institute of Technology Mandi has partnered with Himachal Pradesh Kaushal Vikas Nigam (HPKVN) to introduce several training programs starting from January 15, 2024. These programs are completely free and are designed to equip participants with important skills and knowledge. The aim is to help individuals develop professionally and contribute to the improvement of education and vocational training in the region.
Professor Tushar Jain, the Head of the Centre for Continuing Education (CCE) at IIT Mandi, mentioned that these training programs are sponsored by HPKVN, Shimla, in collaboration with IIT Mandi. He further highlighted that this is an excellent opportunity for the young people of Himachal to study at IIT Mandi, guided by experienced faculty members, and gain practical exposure in advanced IIT labs. Additionally, the institute will provide placement support to the participants.
These courses are open to individuals from engineering, BCA, MCA, ITI, and polytechnic backgrounds, as well as teachers, trainers, and working professionals.

The objective of the Short-term Course
The focus of these programs will be on soft skills, English speaking, interview preparation, personality development, group discussions, entrepreneurship skills, and startup support will be provided for the holistic development and career success of the candidates.
Certification in Machine Learning Program
In this certification program, the student will learn Mathematical Foundations, Python Programming, Statistical Foundations and Visualization Data, Visualisation and Pre-processing Machine, Learning and Applications, and other areas.
Certification in IOT Automation Program
In this training program, participants will receive specialized sessions on various subjects such as Python programming, Android application development, web development, computer vision, and more than 10 IoT projects.
These sessions aim to equip the candidates with both theoretical knowledge and practical skills that are directly relevant to the industry. By covering programming, application development, web development, and hands-on lab sessions, the program prepares participants to tackle a wide range of challenges in the field of IoT.
