About the Bookmyshow
BookMyShow is one of India’s leading entertainment platforms, and they’re looking for a bright and motivated individual to join their team. As a Trainee, you’ll have the opportunity to learn from and work with some of the best PR professionals in the industry.
BookMyShow was founded by Ashish Hemrajani, Parikshit Dar, and Rajesh Balpande, all three alumni of Sydenham Institute of Management, Mumbai University. They had been working for J.W. Thompson, SPAR, and Chatterjee Soros Group, respectively. In 2007 they officially came up with the BookMyShow website.
The major purpose of this start-up was to bring the concept of online movie ticketing to India. As soon as it expanded, it started offering online ticketing solutions for theatres, events, concerts, and sports. During its initial years, BookMyShow had a small team managing all the operations. It now employs more than 400 people.BookMyShow’s online ticketing platform is considered to be the main reason behind its success.
BookMyShow is an online ticketing facility like Movietickets.com, Explara, and Ticketmaster.com. BookMyShow took the primary services provided by these two websites and consolidated them into one website for movies, plays, events, and sports tickets. Apart from being an online ticketing portal, BookMyShow offers information about upcoming movies and events, show timings, venue details, and artist bios.
Soon after BookMyShow was launched, the company was invested in by Network18 which marked the company’s first round of funding in 2007. In August 2012, Accel Partners invested USD 18 million in BookMyShow. After this investment, the company’s valuation stood at USD 58.33 million.

Role and Responsibility
Assist in executing communication strategy for BookMyShow to build and manage corporate and brand reputation
Assist the team in coordinating with external PR agency on all activities on a day-to-day basis to drive impactful and effective results through earned coverage across traditional, social, and digital media
Spot and convert relevant opportunity areas for the brand to increase effective visibility in media; also collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams to identify the use of communications to support business needs and objectives
Coordinate all PR-related activities internally and externally and assist in managing all media requests
Work closely with the agency to develop content for press releases, authored articles, and presentations in line with BookMyShow’s communication objectives
Assist in putting together briefing documents for spokespersons for announcements, launches, and broader cross-functional efforts
Assist in the research and identifying of media relations (existing & new) to build opportunities for BookMyShow not just across traditional media but social and digital media and influencers alike; New-age, social, and digital media interest is a must.
